“Rêve Générale - General dream” was the slogan used in Paris by rail workers during the strikes that brought the country to a standstill between December 2019 and January 2020. The word grève (strike), is replaced by its French homonyms rêve (dream), symbolising the general dream of the strikers to preserve their rights, which would be undermined by the government’s planned pensions reforms.
